Website Must-Haves for Chattanooga Contractors
Roofers, plumbers, HVAC techs and remodelers all win or lose jobs on the same few things. Here’s what a contractor website needs to turn searches into calls.
Short answer: a contractor website needs to answer three questions in seconds — do you do what I need, do you work in my area, and can I trust you? — and then make calling you ridiculously easy.
Most homeowners find contractors on their phone, often in a hurry. Here’s what separates the sites that get the call from the ones that get skipped.
1. A phone number you can tap from anywhere
Put your number at the top of every page, and make it tap-to-call on phones. If someone has water on the floor, they’re not filling out a form.
2. A page for every service
“We do it all” on one page doesn’t rank and doesn’t convince. A roofer should have separate pages for roof replacement, storm damage repair and inspections. A plumber should have pages for water heaters, drain cleaning and leak repair. Each page is another way to be found — and another chance to look like the specialist.
3. Clear service areas
Say where you work. Hixson, Ooltewah, Signal Mountain, East Ridge, North Georgia — whatever’s true. Customers want to know you’ll come to them, and Google wants to know where you’re relevant.
4. Real photos of real jobs
- Before-and-after shots
- Your crew and your trucks
- Finished projects in local neighborhoods
Stock photos of smiling models in hard hats don’t fool anyone.
5. Proof you’re legit
- License and insurance information
- Manufacturer certifications and warranties
- Reviews shown right on your service pages
- Years in business and local roots
Homeowner reality: most people check reviews and credentials before they call anyone. Put that proof where they’re deciding, not buried on an About page.
6. An easy way to ask for a quote
Keep quote forms short: name, phone, address and what they need. Every extra field loses people. Let them upload a photo of the problem if it helps you quote faster.
7. Speed on a phone
If your site takes forever to load on a phone in a basement with one bar of signal, the customer is already calling the next result. Fast sites win jobs.
8. Answers to the questions you hear every day
How much does it usually cost? How fast can you come out? Do you work with insurance? Do you offer financing? Short answers on your site save phone time and build trust before anyone calls.
Your website’s job isn’t to look impressive. It’s to make the phone ring.
